Now that I have a baby, finding outfits to accomodate breastfeeding can sometimes be difficult.  But I've found, you really don't have to sacrifice style.  Though some of those cute dresses may have to go to the back of the closet for a while ;P

Homemade party decor #3

Banners!  These are super easy and fun to make, and since you can use any fabric you can find, these can be festive for any occasion!  Go to the tutorial >here< and be creative with it.  Change it up and make triangle shapes or maybe add some letters!  Here is what I came up with:

Going off our last post about pinwheels, you can always make smaller pinwheels with oragami paper, glue the backside together instead of fastening it with a brad, and voila!  There instant confetti, or glue them to toothpicks and make them into cupcake toppers!

Add some ribbon and a large pinwheel and some ribbon and you've got a unique centerpiece!

Money Saving Tips (from our readers!)

We recently had a giveaway in which we asked for YOUR ideas and ways that YOU save money.  Here are some of the responses:

GARAGE SALES!


Leaving my wallet at home. Then when I have the craving for fast food, I don't have the means to buy any.


I use cloth diapers, and I only buy groceries and gas with cash that way when its gone its gone!


I don't grocery shop hungry, ever. 


Planning meals in advance so I know what I want.  It helps at the store to know what i need to buy ... it helps daily because I know what I'm fixing when I get up and less likely to order out.  It saves time (not) debating with everyone on what is for dinner and the kids help out more because I'm more organized and that also saves something more important than money because it saves memories with my kids!


I do not use a debit card. Figure everything up and go to bank once a wk on grocery day and get cash. Stay home every other day. Not only do we save a ton of gas but I found all those little $2 purchases add up to one big sum. We also have 5 kids at home so we have to budget very well.

Homemade party decor #1

Over the next few months I'm going to spotlight some great ideas for homemade party decor that will make your party stand out, and won't cost a million bucks!

First spotlight:

Pinwheels!  We are prepping for a party next month so today we had a pinwheel making party!  We followed a simple tutorial with our own twist!  We used cardstock in a plain gold color and matching gold brads to fasten them.  To support our pinwheels, we'll be hot gluing some dowel rods to the back as ours are simply for decoration and we don't mind that they won't spin.  The great thing about these is you can make them in any size you want and there are endless paper options as well!
